Almost 8 years ago, a newborn shih tzu with kidney dysplasia (a potentially fatal disease) found her way into my arms. Many animal lovers know that animals bought from pet stores frequently have life threatening diseases caused by the conditions of breeding in "puppy mills", sometimes due to poor living conditions and inbreeding. This was the nature of Oreo's dilemma, as well as her (and my) miracle. If I had not adopted her, she would have been euthanized. Miraculously, my Oreo is in good health and extremely happy, despite her illness and age. She is my best friend. My desire to adopt Oreo is what brought her to me and my home and love is the miracle that brings together people and their adopted animals. If I had not found Oreo in time, I may not have had this blessing, and she may not have been homeward bound. Our Goal
The sole purpose of this site is to organize and unite in the ultimate goal of saving animals from "No-Kill" shelters and placing them in safe, loving permanent homes. In many cases, such as Oreo, after they are rescued they are in need medical care. Many have to be neutered or spayed as well. Proper medical care and surgeries are necessary in order to stop the cycle that is the plight of these unfortunate animals. Our goal is to raise funds so that these animals can be treated in "No-Kill" shelters and send them "Homeward Bound".
